User testing as go-to research method
User testing can be conducted in different ways:
- Unmoderated or moderated. User testing can be conducted either independently (unmoderated) or with a moderator (moderated). Learn more about when to use which method in this article.
- Online or on-site. User tests can be conducted either on-site or online.
- Qualitative or quantitative. Whereas qualitative user tests are conducted to gather in-depth insights, quantitative user tests are conducted when statistical validity is required.
